On the occasion of National Space Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India’s dynamic progress in the space sector, attributing the country’s achievements to the talent and innovation of 140 crore Indians.
In a series of posts responding to an X (formerly Twitter) thread by MyGovIndia showcasing India’s space milestones and the rise of space-based startups, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s continued commitment to empowering and transforming the Indian space ecosystem.
“Powered by the skills of 140 crore Indians, our country is making remarkable strides in the world of space. And, we are going to do even more!” — PM Modi stated, using the hashtag #NationalSpaceDay.

The Prime Minister underscored that sweeping reforms introduced by the government in recent years have significantly democratized the space sector. These reforms have opened doors for private enterprises, startups, and the youth to actively participate and innovate in space-related technologies and missions.
“Our Government has ushered in various reforms in the space sector, which have encouraged youngsters, private sector and startups to explore new frontiers and contribute meaningfully to India’s space journey,” he said.

The establishment of Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe) and increasing collaboration with ISRO have also catalyzed private participation.
