BJP MLA Surender Shourie Visits Disaster-Hit Villages in Banjar Kullu, Assesses Damages.
Shimla:
BJP MLA from Banjar, Surender Shourie, conducted a field visit to several villages under Gram Panchayat Balagad on Wednesday, including Barada, Bhumar, Balaun, Jalafad, and Bala. These areas, falling under the Banjar subdivision of Kullu district, have been severely impacted by recent natural calamities.

During his visit, Shourie met with affected families, assessed the extent of the damage to homes and livelihoods, and listened to the residents’ grievances. He expressed solidarity with the victims and assured them of full support during this difficult time.
“In this challenging time of natural disaster, we stand firmly with the affected families,” Shourie stated. He urged the local administration to expedite relief and rehabilitation efforts to ensure timely assistance reaches those in need.
The BJP leader emphasized the importance of swift government action, particularly in remote villages that are more vulnerable to weather-related challenges.
His visit comes amid growing calls for rapid disaster response across Himachal Pradesh, where several regions have reported landslides, flash floods, and crop damage due to erratic weather patterns.
Residents appreciated the MLA’s on-ground presence and hoped for quicker government aid following his intervention.
