Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Addresses Indian Diaspora in Morocco; Emphasizes India’s Strength, Restraint, and Global Rise.

Rabat, Morocco:

On the sidelines of his official visit to Morocco, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh engaged with the vibrant Indian diaspora in Rabat on Saturday, reaffirming the government’s commitment to national security, economic progress, and global leadership.

The interaction was marked by enthusiastic support from the Indian community, who praised the government and Armed Forces for their decisive response in Operation Sindoor—India’s recent calibrated military action following a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

India’s Response: Restraint with Resolve

Addressing the community, Shri Rajnath Singh stated that India’s actions were precise, restrained, and in line with international norms. He stressed that while the nation will never provoke conflict, it will never hesitate to protect its citizens.

Humne dharm dekh kar nahi, karm dekh kar maara hai,” said the Defence Minister, quoting from the Ramcharitmanas, implying that India’s response targeted perpetrators based on their actions, not identity.

He emphasized that the Armed Forces were given full operational freedom after the cowardly attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam, and that India’s posture was defensive, not escalatory.

Operation Sindoor: A Symbol of New India’s Doctrine

Singh highlighted Operation Sindoor as a clear example of India’s new strategic doctrine—strong, swift, and calibrated responses to threats without compromising diplomatic maturity. He said the operation reflected India’s commitment to peace, but also its readiness to defend sovereignty without hesitation.

Members of the Indian diaspora expressed strong support for the government’s handling of the situation, noting that India’s response sent a powerful message to both domestic and global audiences.

India’s Ascent: From Fragile Economy to Global Power

The Defence Minister took the opportunity to brief the diaspora on India’s transformational growth over the past decade:

  • From 11th to 4th largest economy in the world
  • Poised to enter the top 3 global economies soon
  • Over 118 unicorn startups, up from 18 a decade ago
  • Digital revolution, with widespread fintech and e-governance integration
  • Defence industry production at Rs. 1.5 lakh crore, with exports of over Rs. 23,000 crore to 100+ countries

“India’s rise is not just economic,” Shri Singh said. “It is technological, military, and moral.”

India’s Defence Sector: A Global Exporter

Rajnath Singh proudly shared that India’s once import-dependent defence sector has now become a net exporter, strengthening its geopolitical influence and economic resilience.

“Today, Indian-made defence equipment is trusted in more than 100 countries,” he stated, citing this as a testament to Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and its successful execution.

Diaspora: India’s Cultural and Economic Ambassadors

The Defence Minister lauded the Indian diaspora for their integrity, diligence, and cultural pride, noting that they are living symbols of India’s global goodwill.

He invoked Swami Vivekananda’s address at the Parliament of World’s Religions, reiterating that “character is the true measure of a person in Indian culture.”

“Wherever you go in the world, an Indian is respected for his values, his work ethic, and his sense of duty,” said Shri Singh, drawing applause from the audience.

A Nation on the Rise, With Its People at the Core

Members of the Indian community in Rabat expressed admiration for India’s steady rise and praised the government’s balanced approach to security and diplomacy.

The interaction concluded with a renewed sense of national pride, as diaspora members pledged to contribute to India’s global vision, support local Indian missions, and spread awareness of India’s values and achievements.

The Defence Minister’s interaction with the Indian diaspora in Morocco reinforced India’s image as a peace-loving yet powerful nation. From the success of Operation Sindoor to economic and technological milestones, Rajnath Singh’s address served as a reminder that India’s global rise is rooted not just in strength, but in character, vision, and unity.
