‘Breathable Art’ Inaugurated in Delhi: A Green Innovation Merging Nature, Art, and Clean Air Awareness.

New Delhi:

In a unique blend of creativity, sustainability, and environmental consciousness, ‘Breathable Art’ — a living, interactive installation created using air-purifying plants and sustainable materials — was inaugurated today at Swarn Jayanti Park, Rohini. The initiative was inaugurated by Nameeta Prasad, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), and is part of the ‘Breath of Change – Clean Air, Blue Skies’ campaign under the EIACP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme) of the Ministry’s EEARSD Scheme.

Supported by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), ‘Breathable Art’ aims to raise public awareness on air pollution and promote eco-conscious urban living. Designed with a variety of air-purifying plants such as areca palm, money plant, snake plant, and peace lily, the structure offers both a visual and functional solution to Delhi’s air quality crisis.

The installation serves as an educational hub, a community initiative, and a strategic intervention in pollution hotspots. Integrated QR codes allow visitors to learn about the air-purifying functions of each plant, encouraging environmental education and sustainable lifestyle practices.

Officials hope this flagship initiative becomes a model for eco-urban interventions, blending nature and community action for a greener, breathable future.
