BJP MLA Inder Singh Gandhi Meets CM Sukhu, Seeks Reconsideration of Atal Medical University Shift from Balh to Sarkaghat.

BJP MLA from Balh assembly constituency in Mandi district, Inder Singh Gandhi, met Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla today to express strong opposition to the state government’s decision to shift the proposed Atal Medical University from Balh in Mandi district to Sarkaghat.

During the meeting, the MLA held a detailed discussion with the Chief Minister and conveyed the concerns and disappointment of the people of Balh regarding the proposed relocation. Gandhi emphasized that Balh had been the originally designated site and significant groundwork had already begun in the area.

Speaking after the meeting, Inder Singh Gandhi stated, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has assured me that the government will reconsider its decision. I hope the sentiments of the people of Balh will be respected.”

The move to shift the university has sparked political and public outcry in the Balh region, with local residents and leaders demanding that the university project remain at its initially proposed location.

The Chief Minister’s assurance has given a ray of hope to the people of Balh, but the final decision from the state government is still awaited.
