“IRIS 2025” Illuminates SLBS Government Medical College, Nerchowk with Culture, Talent, and Youthful Spirit.
Three-day cultural fest concludes with spectacular performances and a strong message on healthy living.

Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College & Hospital, Nerchowk, came alive with vibrant colors, music, and youthful energy as it hosted its much-awaited annual cultural fest “IRIS 2025” from 14th to 16th October. The three-day celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all batches and neighboring colleges, making it a grand and memorable affair.

Staying true to tradition, students showcased their talents across a diverse range of cultural and literary events. The festival served as a platform for budding artists and performers to shine, while also fostering camaraderie and creative expression.
Highlights of IRIS 2025:
- Solo Singing:
Dr. Abhishek emerged as the star of the solo singing competition, winning first place. Dr. Madhu and Dr. Vibhuti followed closely, securing second and third places respectively. - Duet Singing:
The duet singing competition saw a captivating performance by Dr. Vibhuti and Dr. Abhishek, who took home the first prize. The duo of Dr. Milan and Dr. Tanish clinched second place, while Dr. Shreya and Dr. Tanish were awarded third. - Group Dance:
High-energy dance performances lit up the stage, with the Bhangra team claiming the top prize. Traditional Natti secured second place, and the Haryanvi dance performance earned third. - Extempore Competition:
Showcasing wit and spontaneity, Riya Pathak (Batch 2021) secured first position in the extempore competition. Aman Pratap (Batch 2022) came in second, while a student named Iris stood third. - Special Titles:
The much-anticipated titles of Mr. Iris and Miss Iris were awarded to Mr. Kanishk and Miss Vibha, celebrating their overall charisma, talent, and contribution to the event.
Campaign for a Cause:
Adding a socially conscious dimension to the festivities, the college also organized a “Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0”. During the campaign, the Principal led students in taking a collective oath to abstain from tobacco use and advocate for a healthier lifestyle.

A Grand Finale:
The event concluded on a high note with dazzling performances, followed by the felicitation ceremony where winners of various competitions were honored. The energy, enthusiasm, and team spirit displayed throughout “IRIS 2025” left a lasting impression on everyone present.
