CM Sukhu Inaugurates Digital Forensic Division and DPRC Building in Dharamshala.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated the newly established Digital Forensic Division and Advanced Equipment Laboratory at the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) in Dharamshala, marking a significant step forward in strengthening forensic investigation capabilities in Himachal Pradesh.

The state-of-the-art facility, developed at an approximate cost of Rs. 3 crore, is equipped with cutting-edge tools designed to extract and analyze data even from severely damaged mobile phones. In addition, an Advanced Equipment Laboratory, set up at a cost of Rs. 1.05 crore, houses high-precision instruments valued at around Rs. 1.50 crore, ensuring improved accuracy and reliability in forensic examinations.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the modernized forensic setup would substantially enhance transparency, efficiency, and credibility in investigations, particularly in cases where the prescribed punishment extends to seven years or more. He emphasized that the new division would play a crucial role in helping investigative agencies preserve and analyze evidence collected from complex crime scenes, especially across the northern region of Himachal Pradesh.

Earlier in the day, CM Sukhu also inaugurated the District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC) building in Kangra, constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.92 crore, further strengthening local governance infrastructure. He also laid the foundation stone for the DPO staff quarters of the Zila Parishad, Kangra, which will be built at an estimated expenditure of Rs. 2.26 crore.

The event was attended by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, MLA Suresh Kumar, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, and Secretary PR&RD C. Paulrasu, among other dignitaries.
