Lahaul-Spiti BJP Delegation Meets Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut to Discuss Road Projects and Shinkula Tunnel.

A 29-member delegation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Lahaul-Spiti, led by former MLA Ravi Thakur, met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, in Delhi to discuss crucial road development projects under the central budget, including the Shinkula Tunnel.

During the meeting, the delegation raised concerns about the ongoing road projects in Lahaul-Spiti and urged the Minister to expedite work on the Shinkula Tunnel, a key infrastructure project in the region. Lahaul-Spiti BJP President Rigzin Samphel Heyerpa explained that the delegation had a detailed discussion with Gadkari on various road projects, including the transfer of the Leo bypass from the Public Works Department to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
Other issues discussed included the construction of a tunnel at Kunzam Pass, increasing compensation for the Sansari-Killar-Thirot-Tandi (SKTT) road, the construction of the Koksar-Chhatdu bypass road, the Manimahesh entrance, and the Raape-Kugti Pass and Hadsar connectivity road.
In response, Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed his support for the projects, assuring the delegation that all of the discussed works would be started soon and completed promptly. The meeting was seen as a significant step toward improving the road infrastructure in the challenging terrains of Lahaul-Spiti, ensuring better connectivity and development for the region.
