NCA-F Celebrates Purple Fest 2025, Highlights Commitment to Inclusivity on International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The National Communications Academy-Finance (NCA-F), Ghitorni— a “Sarvotkrisht” 5-star rated Central Training Institute under the Department of Telecommunications— celebrated Purple Fest 2025 on December 3 with great enthusiasm. Organized in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), the event marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, aiming to promote empathy, accessibility and inclusion across communities.

The fest was inaugurated by V. Vidyavathi, Secretary, DEPwD, who emphasized the importance of dismantling mental barriers to create a more inclusive society. In her remarks, she highlighted that true accessibility begins with awareness and collective responsibility. The Director General of NCA-F encouraged participants to deepen their commitment to compassion, inclusive learning and empowerment.

Senior officers from DEPwD, including the Deputy Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) and the Deputy Director General (DDG), also graced the occasion, offering valuable insights and motivating participants.

The day-long celebration featured a range of impactful activities. Ira Singhal, IAS, delivered an inspiring address, while NGOs conducted interactive sessions and simulation experiences aimed at sensitizing participants to the daily challenges faced by persons with disabilities.

A total of 176 Officer Trainees from 15 All India and Central Civil Services, currently attending the Special Foundation Course at NCA-F in collaboration with the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, actively participated alongside NCA-F faculty and staff.

As part of the programme, a Training of Trainers (ToT) session was conducted by the Deputy CCPD for NCA-F faculty members. A series of simulation-based sensitization activities further enriched the learning experience.

A special attraction of Purple Fest 2025 was the vibrant exhibition showcasing the work of Divyangjan entrepreneurs, including children and young adults. Their stalls received enthusiastic participation from guests, trainees, residents, and staff, providing both encouragement and economic support to the entrepreneurs.

Purple Fest 2025 emerged as a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of resilience, talent and aspiration— reaffirming the collective responsibility to build a more accessible, empathetic and inclusive society for all.
