Sampati Devi Memorial Nursing College Launches District-Level Anti-Drug Awareness Survey in Mandi.
Shimla:
Acting on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, Sampati Devi Memorial Nursing College, Bijni, has volunteered to conduct a comprehensive district-level awareness survey under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The initiative aims to assess awareness, understanding and preventive behaviour related to drug abuse among students in 298 Government Senior Secondary Schools across District Mandi. The survey will gather crucial information on students’ knowledge about substance abuse and will help design more targeted interventions.

The campaign was formally launched in the presence of Chairman Dr. Chandershekhar Sharma, Managing Director Sunita Sharma, Principal Bandna, and the entire faculty of Sampati Devi Group of Colleges. Speaking on the occasion, they collectively emphasized that youth awareness is the cornerstone of a drug-free society and highlighted the responsibility of educational institutions in supporting the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Students were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle choices and participate wholeheartedly in the survey.
As part of the initiative, faculty members and nursing students will conduct multiple awareness activities in schools, including health education sessions, self-structured questionnaires, anti-drug talks, and interactive engagements designed to promote a drug-free lifestyle.

Additionally, the teams have conducted MCQs, counselling sessions, awareness talks, distributed informational pamphlets, and provided signature banners for teachers and students to pledge support against drug abuse.
The college’s proactive involvement is expected to significantly strengthen the district’s ongoing efforts to create a safer, healthier and drug-free environment for school students.
