PM Modi accuses Congress of stalling progress, seeks support for BJP in Mandi.
Shimla:
In a scathing attack on the Congress party during his election campaign in support of BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut in the Mandi parliamentary constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the opposition of hindering India’s progress. Modi asserted that Congress thrives on poverty and turmoil, aiming to reverse the nation’s developmental trajectory.

Addressing the constituents of Mandi parliamentary constituency, PM Modi hailed the pivotal role played by Himachal Pradesh in the decision to construct the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He credited the strength of their votes for fulfilling the centuries-old aspiration of millions. However, Modi criticized Congress for its lack of enthusiasm towards this historic achievement, highlighting their stance against key initiatives such as the abrogation of Article 370 and the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
“Your support empowered me to enact transformative policies such as ‘One Rank One Pension’ for Ex-Servicemen, propel India to become the world’s fifth-largest economy, and introduce reservations for women in legislative bodies,” remarked PM Modi, underscoring the significance of voter empowerment in shaping the nation’s destiny.

Claiming the BJP-NDA already securing a comfortable majority, PM Modi emphasized the importance of Himachal Pradesh delivering all four seats to the BJP, further strengthening the government’s mandate. He characterized this potential victory as a decisive rejection of Congress and its regressive agenda.
Modi lambasted Congress for its regressive policies, alleging a desire to repeal progressive measures like Article 370 and the CAA, and opposing the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code. In contrast, he championed the BJP’s commitment to equality and inclusivity, advocating for a common civil code to ensure uniform treatment of all citizens.
Seeking support for BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut, PM Modi lauded her as a symbol of the aspirations of Himachal’s daughters. He condemned Congress for its derogatory remarks against Ranaut, accusing the party of disrespecting the women of Mandi and Himachal Pradesh.
“Empower your daughters, and I guarantee a bright future for them,” Modi assured the public, highlighting the government’s efforts to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Turning his attention to the failures of the Congress-led state government, PM Modi criticized the party for reneging on its promises and mismanagement of funds allocated for disaster relief. He pledged to launch an inquiry into the misuse of funds and hold those responsible accountable.
Highlighting the BJP’s commitment to development, PM Modi cited the construction of the Rohtang Tunnel and the Kiratpur-Manali highway as testament to the government’s dedication to improving infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
In a final appeal to the electorate, PM Modi urged them to deliver a resounding victory for BJP candidates in both the parliamentary and assembly elections, emphasizing the need to rid Himachal Pradesh of Congress’s alleged mismanagement and stagnation.
The rally concluded with Modi’s call to action, urging voters to cast their ballots in support of BJP candidates to ensure a decisive victory and pave the way for continued progress and prosperity in Himachal Pradesh.
