CM Directs Integration of Online Facilities in Health Services; Committee to Be Constituted.

Shimla:

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu yesterday directed that maximum online facilities be integrated into the state’s health services to make them more accessible, efficient and transparent. He said that a committee would be constituted under the chairmanship of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil to work out the roadmap for this digital integration. The committee will submit its report within 10 days.

The Chief Minister was chairing a review meeting with senior officers of the Health Department, National Health Mission and the Directorate of Medical Education. He emphasized that the inclusion of online facilities would save time and resources while ensuring improved quality of health services for the people.

CM Sukhu directed the development of an online patient registration system across various health institutions and hospitals in the state. He said that digital systems would simplify processes for patients and healthcare providers alike, while strengthening service delivery.

The Chief Minister further stressed that under the Himcare Scheme, mapping should be ensured up to the panchayat level and comprehensive data related to patients’ treatment should be incorporated. He also directed that the ABHA card be integrated with the Him Parivar Portal to create a unified digital health ecosystem.

He said that the digital initiative would enhance transparency and accountability, improve monitoring of services, enable better maintenance of online records and make the grievance redressal mechanism more effective. Online health services, he added, would support better planning, more effective administration and promote innovation in the health sector, ultimately helping achieve the goal of healthy citizens and a strong state.

The Chief Minister also informed that with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), health infrastructure in the state is being strengthened to further improve healthcare services.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil, Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister (Innovation, Digital Technology and Governance) Gokul Butail, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Secretary Health Priyanka Basu Ingty and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
