Shimla:
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday extended his warm greetings and heartiest congratulations to the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of the state’s 56th Statehood Day. Describing the day as a moment of pride and reflection, he said it symbolizes the remarkable journey of Himachal Pradesh and the collective resilience, hard work, and aspirations of its people.
In his message, the Chief Minister underscored the historical importance of Statehood Day, noting that it serves as a reminder of the struggles, achievements, and progress the state has made since attaining full statehood. He paid rich tributes to the visionary leaders who played a pivotal role in the formation of Himachal Pradesh and laid a strong foundation for its development.
The Chief Minister especially honoured Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, fondly remembered as the “Architect of Himachal,” along with other prominent leaders whose dedication and foresight shaped the state’s political, social, and economic identity. Recalling a historic moment, CM Sukhu expressed deep gratitude to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for her decisive role in granting full statehood to Himachal Pradesh. Looking ahead, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to transforming Himachal Pradesh’s economic landscape through a mission-oriented approach. He stated that the government is working tirelessly to make the state completely self-reliant and to ensure sustainable and balanced development across all sectors.
Sharing his long-term vision, CM Sukhu said the government aims to elevate Himachal Pradesh to the status of the most prosperous state in the country. He emphasized that environmental sustainability, economic growth, and social welfare would remain the cornerstones of this vision.
Concluding his message, the Chief Minister called upon the people to draw inspiration from Himachal Pradesh’s glorious past and actively participate in building a “Green and Prosperous Himachal.” He expressed confidence that with public cooperation and proactive governance, the state would continue to scale new heights and strengthen its presence on the national stage.
