Lahaul and Spiti leader and former MLA Ravi Thakur, who currently serves as a BJP State Executive Member, met Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in New Delhi along with Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikander Kumar to express gratitude for the Union Budget and to seek enhanced allocations for tribal regions.

During the meeting, Thakur thanked the Union Government for its continued focus on development and requested that special budgetary provisions be made for tribal areas, particularly those in Himachal Pradesh. He emphasized the unique geographical and socio-economic challenges faced by tribal communities and urged the Centre to ensure targeted financial support for infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, and education in these remote regions.

Thakur also extended an invitation to the Minister to visit the tribal areas of the state to gain firsthand insight into local issues. Responding positively, Chaudhary assured that he would make every possible effort to undertake the visit.

On the occasion, Thakur expressed his appreciation to Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikander Kumar for consistently raising issues concerning Himachal Pradesh and its tribal belts prominently in Parliament.
