PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone of Kota Airport, Promises Boost to Hadoti Region’s Growth.
Kota:
In a landmark development for Rajasthan’s Hadoti region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Kota Airport today via video address, marking a new phase of economic, industrial, and infrastructural progress for Kota, Bundi, Baran, and Jhalawar. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,500 crore, is expected to enhance regional connectivity, boost trade, and attract tourism.
Addressing the occasion, the Prime Minister called it “a day of new hope and achievement” for the Hadoti region. Highlighting Kota’s status as a hub of education, energy, and traditional industries such as Kota Doria sarees, Kota stone, and Bundi Basmati rice, he said the airport will amplify opportunities for local businesses and artisans while easing travel that previously required journeys to Jaipur or Jodhpur.
PM Modi also emphasized the broader development of Kota, including modernization of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and improved road connectivity via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which passes through Kota and Bundi. He noted that these combined initiatives—air, rail, and road connectivity—would accelerate trade, tourism, and youth employment in the region.
Referring to spiritual and ecological landmarks like Shri Mathuradhish Ji, Garadia Mahadev, and Mukundara Hills, the Prime Minister said enhanced air connectivity would open Hadoti to global tourism, directly benefiting the local economy. He also acknowledged the role of Kota MP and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in ensuring the timely execution of development projects.
Modi concluded by citing the growth of India’s airport network from 70 in 2014 to over 160 today, expressing confidence that Kota Airport would similarly drive economic momentum. He reiterated that the “double engine” government’s clear vision is laying the foundation for a prosperous and empowered Rajasthan, contributing to the larger vision of a Developed India.
The foundation stone-laying of Kota Airport is seen as a transformative milestone for the region, promising to enhance connectivity, industrial growth, and tourism opportunities.
