PM Modi Holds Talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Stresses Dialogue for Peace in West Asia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with King Abdullah II on Thursday, exchanging advance Eid greetings and discussing the evolving security situation in West Asia.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his warm wishes ahead of Eid and reaffirmed India’s strong ties with Jordan. Both leaders expressed deep concern over the current developments in West Asia and emphasized the urgent need for dialogue and diplomacy to ensure early restoration of peace, stability, and security in the region.
Highlighting the importance of maintaining regional balance, the Prime Minister strongly condemned recent attacks on energy infrastructure, stating that such actions are dangerous and can trigger avoidable escalation. He underlined that safeguarding critical infrastructure is essential for regional and global stability.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated that both India and Jordan support the uninterrupted transit of goods and energy, stressing that any disruption could have far-reaching economic and geopolitical consequences. The leaders agreed that cooperation and restraint are vital in addressing ongoing challenges.
The Prime Minister also expressed sincere appreciation for Jordan’s humanitarian efforts, particularly its role in facilitating the safe return of Indian nationals stranded in the region amid rising tensions. He acknowledged Jordan’s continued support and coordination during difficult circumstances.
Taking to the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi shared details of the conversation, describing King Abdullah II as a “brother” and reiterating the shared commitment to peace and stability in West Asia.
