Lift Irrigation Scheme Inaugurated in Rohru to Boost Horticulture and Farmers’ Income.
Shimla:
A significant step toward strengthening irrigation infrastructure in the region was marked yesterday with the inauguration of a lift irrigation scheme from Dogra Khad to Gardai village under Gram Panchayat Pujarli No. 4 in Rohru assembly constituency of Shimla district. The project was formally inaugurated by the Education Minister, Rohit Thakur.
The scheme, implemented by the Jal Shakti Department of Himachal Pradesh, is expected to prove highly beneficial for the horticulture-dominated landscape of the area. By ensuring a reliable and efficient water supply, the initiative aims to enhance agricultural productivity and provide much-needed irrigation support to local farmers.
Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta expressed gratitude to the state government and the concerned department for executing this crucial project. He highlighted that the scheme would not only improve irrigation facilities but also open new avenues for agricultural and horticultural growth in the region.
The project is anticipated to play a vital role in increasing farmers’ income and improving their livelihoods, aligning with the state government’s vision of sustainable rural development.
