Mandi Municipal Corporation Elections Announced: Voting on May 17, Counting on May 31.

The schedule for the general elections to the Mandi Municipal Corporation has been officially announced, with polling set to take place on May 17 and counting of votes on May 31. The notification was issued by Deputy Commissioner and Election Officer Apoorv Devgan, in accordance with the directives of the State Election Commission, Himachal Pradesh.

As per the notified schedule, nominations will be accepted on April 29, April 30, and May 2 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Candidates can submit their nomination papers for Wards 1 to 13—including Khaliyar, Purani Mandi, Paddal, Nela, Mangwai, Sanyard, Talyahad, Palace Colony-1, Palace Colony-2, Suhra, Samkhetar, Bhagwahan, and Thanehra—at the office of the Assistant Returning Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sadar, Mandi.

For Wards 14 and 15—Baihna and Daundhi—nomination papers will be submitted at the office of the Assistant Returning Officer and SDM Balh, Nerchowk. To ensure smooth conduct of the electoral process, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mandi has been entrusted with overall supervision.

Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 4 starting at 10:00 AM. Candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations until 3:00 PM on May 6. Immediately after the withdrawal process concludes, election symbols will be allotted to the contesting candidates.

Polling will be conducted on May 17 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM across all wards. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 31 at 9:00 AM and will be held at the Municipal Corporation headquarters in Mandi.

With the issuance of the election notification, the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect within the jurisdiction of the Mandi Municipal Corporation and will remain in force until the completion of the entire election process.

The announcement marks the beginning of the electoral process in the district, with administrative authorities gearing up to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.
