In Loving Memory of NCC Cadet Dumesh Kumari.

It is with profound sorrow and deep grief that Vallabh Government College, Mandi, the National Cadet Corps (NCC), and the entire community mourn the untimely demise of NCC Army Wing Cadet Dumesh Kumari, who tragically lost her life in a road accident on 19 June 2026.
Dumesh Kumari was a third-year B.A. student of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, and a dedicated NCC cadet whose life exemplified courage, discipline, determination, and service to the nation. Hailing from Village Salog, Post Office Bassi, Gohar, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, she earned admiration and respect through her outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to excellence.
A gifted mountaineer and adventure enthusiast, Dumesh recently completed the prestigious Advance Mountaineering Course at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling, West Bengal. During the course, she successfully scaled the 18,000-foot Mount B.C. Roy Summit and proudly unfurled the National Flag, bringing immense pride to her college, district, and the State of Himachal Pradesh. Her achievement reflected not only her exceptional physical endurance and leadership qualities but also her indomitable spirit and dedication to duty.
Paying tribute to her memory, Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, Media Coordinator of the College and Flight Commander, NCC Air Wing, described her as an exceptionally disciplined, hardworking, and inspiring cadet whose accomplishments brought honour to the entire NCC fraternity. He noted that her passing is an irreparable loss to the institution and the NCC family.
Expressing heartfelt condolences, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Principal of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, stated that Dumesh Kumari’s life and achievements demonstrated that daughters from rural backgrounds can attain extraordinary success through determination and perseverance. Her inspiring journey will continue to motivate future generations of students and cadets.
Though her life was cut tragically short, Dumesh Kumari leaves behind a legacy of courage, dedication, patriotism, and excellence. Her remarkable achievements and noble character will forever remain a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
The college administration, NCC officers, faculty members, staff, and cadets extend their deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and pray for strength and solace during this difficult time.
A solemn tribute ceremony and condolence meeting were organized by the NCC Air Wing and Army Wing units of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, where hundreds of students, faculty members, staff, NCC officers, and cadets gathered to pay their respects and honour the memory of a promising young cadet whose legacy will live on forever.
