Himachal Dev Sena Submits Memorandum to Chief Minister, Seeks Increase in Age Limit for Police Recruitment.
Shimla:
The Himachal Dev Sena organization has submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, urging the state government to retain the age limit for the upcoming police recruitment in line with previous recruitment drives. The organization also demanded a one-time age relaxation for candidates who became overage due to the COVID-19 pandemic and delays in the recruitment process.
In the memorandum, the organization requested that the age limit for General category candidates be fixed at 18 to 26 years, while the age limit for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates be maintained at 18 to 28 years, as was followed in earlier police recruitment processes. It further appealed to the government to grant a special one-time opportunity to candidates who lost their eligibility because of the prolonged gap in recruitment caused by the pandemic and administrative delays.
The organization stated that thousands of aspiring candidates across Himachal Pradesh have been preparing for police recruitment examinations for several years. It emphasized that providing appropriate age relaxation would ensure equal opportunities for deserving candidates and help safeguard their future careers.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Himachal Dev Sena urged the state government to take a positive decision in the interest of the youth. They said the organization would continue to raise issues related to employment and the rights of young people across the state.
Those present during the submission of the memorandum included Himachal Dev Sena President Teja Thakur, Founder Manish Vats, Youth and Employment Cell President Parikshit Sharma, and Smriti Sharma. The office bearers collectively appealed to the government to address the concerns of job aspirants and provide relief to eligible candidates affected by exceptional circumstances.
