Mandi Zila Parishad Holds First Quarterly Meeting, Reviews Rural Development and Public Welfare Issues.

The first quarterly meeting of the Mandi Zila Parishad for the financial year 2026-27 was held at the Zila Parishad Conference Hall in Bhiuly on August 7. The meeting was chaired by Zila Parishad Mandi Chairman Amru Ram, who welcomed the elected members and extended his best wishes to them. He also expressed his appreciation for their active participation in the proceedings of the House.
The meeting focused primarily on the agenda for the financial year 2026-27, along with an extensive discussion on development-related and public welfare issues raised by Zila Parishad members from different parts of the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad, Priyanshu Khati, also welcomed the members and conveyed his best wishes for their upcoming tenure. He stressed the need to accord priority to development works in rural areas and called for stronger coordination among various government departments to ensure the effective implementation of development projects.
A wide range of issues concerning rural development, construction works, ongoing activities in gram panchayats and matters related to public welfare were discussed during the meeting. Members highlighted problems and requirements in their respective areas and emphasised the need for better coordination with concerned departments to ensure their timely resolution.
Officials from the concerned departments responded to the issues raised by the members and provided information regarding the status and progress of various development works. Departmental representatives also briefed the House about government schemes and ongoing development initiatives under their respective departments.
The meeting underlined the importance of accelerating development activities in rural areas while ensuring that public grievances and local issues are addressed effectively and within a stipulated timeframe.
Zila Parishad Mandi Secretary Ankit Dogra said that meetings of the Zila Parishad provide an important platform for members to place local problems and development-related issues from their respective areas before the House. Necessary action is subsequently initiated in coordination with the concerned departments to address these issues.
Zila Parishad Vice-Chairperson Bodi Devi, along with elected Zila Parishad members and officials from various government departments, was also present at the meeting.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthening inter-departmental coordination and ensuring that development works and public welfare initiatives in rural areas are implemented efficiently and in a timely manner.
