Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian shooters Sonam Uttam Maskar, Elavenil Valarivan and Vidarsa K Vinod after the trio won the silver medal in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle event at the Asian Games 2026.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister praised the athletes for their performance and highlighted the role of hard work and teamwork in achieving the result.
“Hardwork and teamwork lead to an outstanding result!” Modi said in his message, congratulating the three shooters on securing the silver medal in the women’s 10m Air Rifle event.
The Prime Minister expressed pride in the achievement and said that the success of Sonam Uttam Maskar, Elavenil Valarivan and Vidarsa K Vinod would serve as an inspiration for several athletes in the coming years.
The medal adds to India’s achievements at the Asian Games 2026, with Indian athletes competing across multiple sporting disciplines and seeking to build on the country’s performance on the continental stage.
