Shimla:

Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda received a grand welcome upon his arrival at Patlikuhal in Kullu district, with former Himachal Pradesh minister Govind Singh Thakur leading the reception.

Addressing a public gathering, Thakur highlighted the contribution of the Narendra Modi-led Central Government towards the development of Himachal Pradesh. He said that major infrastructure and healthcare projects, including AIIMS Bilaspur, three medical colleges and the Chandigarh-Manali four-lane highway, had been made possible through the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nadda.

Thakur said that AIIMS Bilaspur would significantly strengthen healthcare facilities in the state by providing advanced medical treatment to people closer to home. The institution would also help reduce the dependence of Himachal residents on hospitals in other states, particularly for the treatment of serious illnesses.

He also underlined the importance of the Atal Tunnel and other tunnels constructed in the state, stating that these projects had improved connectivity and strengthened strategic security in border areas.

According to Thakur, improved road infrastructure and tunnel connectivity would also give a boost to tourism and facilitate the movement of people in remote and difficult mountainous regions.

He emphasised that these projects represented significant milestones in Himachal Pradesh’s development, benefiting residents through better healthcare, improved transportation and enhanced accessibility to remote areas.
