India Gears Up for Major Green Hydrogen Conference as Global Hub Aspirations Take Center Stage.

India is set to reinforce its position in the Green Hydrogen sector with the second edition of the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2024), scheduled from September 11-13 at the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event, a significant milestone in India’s green energy agenda, will feature over 6,000 attendees, including global thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts.
At the curtain-raiser ceremony, Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy, emphasized the conference’s role in advancing India’s Green Hydrogen ecosystem. “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, we aim to make India a global hub for Green Hydrogen production and its derivatives,” Joshi stated. He highlighted the conference’s expanded scope from the previous year, with expectations of over 6,000 registrations and participation from 120+ exhibitors.
The conference will showcase innovations in Green Hydrogen technology and discuss key topics such as green financing, human resource upskilling, and start-up initiatives. Notable components include the GH2THON Hackathon, which invites innovative solutions in Green Hydrogen technology, and various competitions including a scientific poster contest and a quiz finale.
The event will also feature a special youth session, “Green Hydrogen for Youth,” aimed at engaging the next generation in clean energy discussions. Additionally, a CEOs’ Roundtable will offer high-level dialogue on industry challenges and opportunities.
Secretary Bhupinder S. Bhalla of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy highlighted the conference’s focus on international collaboration and practical applications in sectors like transportation and energy. “ICGH-2024 is designed to accelerate India’s Green Hydrogen journey and foster global cooperation towards a sustainable energy future,” Bhalla said.
Organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in collaboration with other key government bodies and industry partners, ICGH-2024 aims to position India as a leading player in the Green Hydrogen sector, reflecting the country’s commitment to global climate goals and energy security.
