PM Modi Addresses Kautilya Economic Conclave, Highlights India’s Growth and Reforms.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the third edition of the Kautilya Economic Conclave today, emphasizing India’s position as the fastest growing major economy. Addressing a gathering of economists and policymakers, he reiterated the government’s commitment to structural reforms aimed at transforming India into a developed nation.

Modi described India as the fifth largest economy by GDP, leading in FinTech adoption and digital transactions. He noted significant achievements, including being the world’s second largest mobile manufacturer and having a robust start-up ecosystem.

The Prime Minister outlined the government’s mantra of “Reform, Perform, and Transform,” highlighting bold policy changes and investments exceeding Rs. 15 trillion in the first three months of the current term. He pointed out that 25 crore Indians have moved out of poverty over the past decade, showcasing the inclusive nature of India’s growth.

Focusing on critical sectors like artificial intelligence and semiconductors, Modi announced a Rs. 1.5 trillion investment for semiconductor plants and underscored the government’s efforts to harness India’s demographic dividend through education and skill development.

He also highlighted the importance of green technologies, announcing India’s ambitious goal of producing 5 million tons of green hydrogen by 2030. The Prime Minister called for ongoing discussions at the conclave to guide future policies, expressing confidence in India’s economic trajectory amidst global uncertainty.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other prominent figures were present at the event, which runs from October 4 to 6, addressing pressing economic issues facing India and the Global South.
