NCC Cadets Celebrate Air Force Day at Vallabh Government College Mandi.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) units of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, celebrated Air Force Day with great enthusiasm. The event witnessed a series of competitions including drill, speech, poetry recitation, and poster making. The chief guest of the event was the college principal, Professor Surina Sharma.

Professor Sharma lauded the NCC cadets for their achievements, highlighting the fact that under the guidance of Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, over a dozen NCC cadets have been commissioned as officers in the past few years. She also mentioned the participation of NCC Air Wing cadets in youth exchange programs in Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Russia.

Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, the associate NCC officer, addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of Air Force Day in commemorating the valor and courage of the Indian Air Force. He highlighted the various roles played by the IAF in safeguarding the nation and conducting humanitarian missions.

The highlight of the event was the drill competition, where cadets from Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron NCC Kullu, two Himachal Pradesh NCC Army Wing Battalions Mandi, and Himachal Pradesh Girls Battalion Solan showcased their skills. The Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron emerged as the winner, followed by the NCC Girls Army Wing and two Himachal Pradesh Army Battalions Mandi, respectively.

In the speech competition, Pallavi from NCC Air Wing Mandi secured the first position, while Dimple from two Himachal Pradesh Army Battalions Mandi and Tanya secured the second and third positions, respectively. In the poster-making competition, Sejal Thakur from NCC Air Wing won the first prize, followed by Dimple Thakur and Radhika Thakur. In poetry recitation, Sejal Thakur bagged the first position, and Ritika secured the second.

The event was a grand success with over 150 NCC cadets from the Air Wing and Army Wing participating.
