ASISC Annual Meeting Highlights Educational Innovations and Leadership.

The two-day annual meeting of the Association of Schools for Indian School Certificate (ASISC) kicked off on Friday, featuring the honoring of Additional Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari by Dr. Sanjeev Bhardwaj, president of ASISC and principal of Kullu Valley School.

The event welcomed Nakul Khullar, an entrepreneur recognized with the ‘Award of Excellence’ in horticulture, as a special guest. With 175 principals and heads of institutions in attendance, the conference aimed to discuss the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP).

Dr. Bhardwaj emphasized the association’s commitment to enhancing the education system through training workshops and seminars that promote comprehensive student development.

Association Secretary Nirmal Kaur announced that the main theme of the conference was “leadership, management, and branding,” highlighting the importance of such seminars in enriching the knowledge of educators. She noted that fostering innovation in education, including the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the curriculum, was a priority.

ASISC Vice-President Sharanjeet Kaur shared insights on a recent collaboration with the Education and Skills Directorate of OECD Hyderabad, which facilitated a five-day workshop focused on educational measurement and item development for secondary-level teachers. This initiative aimed to equip educators with the skills needed to assess 21st-century competencies effectively, attracting participation from numerous international educationists.

The conference will conclude on Saturday, with senior leader Maheshwar Singh slated to attend as the reverend guest, alongside other eminent personalities.
