US Vice President Kamala Harris calls for Israel-Hamas war immediate cease-fire in Gaza.
The Eagle News:
Concerned about the civilians deaths in Gaza City due to ongoing war for the last five months, today, the US Vice President Kamala Harris has called for Israel- Hamas war immediate cease fire in Gaza.
After nearly five months of a war that has killed around 30,000 people in Gaza, according to its Hamas-run Health Ministry, the US administration led by US President Joe Biden has issued its strong criticism of the conflict on Sunday, with Vice President Kamala Harris labeling the situation in the Gaza Strip a ‘humanitarian catastrophe’ and she called for an immediate cease-fire.
“Civilians in Gaza are starving. The conditions are inhumane and our common humanity compels us to act” Harris said at an event commemorating ‘Bloody Sunday’ in Selma, Alabama.
She called for the Israeli government to do more to increase the flow of aid to war affected Gaza to ease the suffering of civilians there, adding that there could be no excuses.
Harris said the threat that Hamas poses to the people of Israel must be eliminated. She said that due to immense scale of suffering in Gaza, there must be an immediate cease-fire for at least the next six weeks.
