Intense Showdown in Youth Congress Elections in Seraj of Mandi: Chet Ram and Vijay Pal Singh’s Candidates win election in Tight Competition.

The Youth Congress elections in the Seraj Assembly constituency have turned into a high-stakes political battle between two prominent Congress leaders, Chet Ram Thakur and Vijay Pal Singh. Both leaders, with deep political ties and significant influence in Seraj assembly constituency, have fiercely supported their respective candidates in a closely contested election.

Chet Ram Thakur, who currently serves as the General Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee and is a close ally of Congress state president Pratibha Singh, has backed Gopal Sehgal in the election. Sehgal secured 1288 votes, narrowly edging out Vijay Pal Singh’s candidate, Paplesh Singh, who received 1252 votes, trailing by just 36 votes.

Vijay Pal Singh, the Chairman of the Intellectual Cell of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee and a trusted aide of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has thrown his support behind Dinesh Kumar in the Balichowki block. Kumar emerged victorious with 846 votes, while Chet Ram’s candidate, Yogesh, received 546 votes. However, the real contest heated up in the Siraj block, where Chet Ram’s candidate, Uttam Singh, triumphed with 876 votes, surpassing Vijay Pal Singh’s support.

This election has proven to be a significant test of political influence for both leaders, as they attempted to demonstrate their strength within the Youth Congress. The close competition highlights the ongoing political maneuvering in Himachal Pradesh, with both leaders tried to secure dominance in the party’s youth wing.
