Prime Minister Releases 19th Instalment of PM-KISAN and Launches Development Projects in Bhagalpur, Bihar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 19th instalment of PM KISAN and launched several development projects in Bhagalpur, Bihar, emphasizing his government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers.
During his address, PM Modi praised the PM-KISAN scheme for its significant benefits to small farmers across the nation, noting that Rs. 22,000 crore had been credited directly into farmers’ accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer. He highlighted that 75 lakh farmer families from Bihar alone were beneficiaries, with Rs. 1,600 crore allocated today.
The Prime Minister also underscored the creation of a Makhana Vikas Board, which will boost the production, processing, and marketing of Makhana, a major crop in Bihar. He emphasized that the formation of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) has enabled small farmers to access market benefits previously unavailable to them. On the occasion of the 10,000th FPO being established, PM Modi congratulated the members of these organizations and stressed their role in increasing farmers’ income.
PM Modi also announced the establishment of a National Institute of Food Technology and Entrepreneurship in Bihar and three new Centers of Excellence to help local farmers. He praised the dairy industry, especially in Bihar, for its role in boosting rural incomes and promoting women empowerment, citing the creation of “Lakhpati Didis.”
Further, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s focus on strengthening agricultural exports and boosting production of key crops, with particular emphasis on the food processing sector. The government has also taken steps to resolve Bihar’s infrastructure issues, including the construction of a major bridge over the Ganga River.
In his address, PM Modi highlighted Bihar’s significance in India’s cultural and economic future, referring to the state as the cornerstone of the nation’s development. He also assured that his government is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Bihar while accelerating its growth into a developed region.
The event was attended by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and other dignitaries.
