University Marks Significant Milestones and Pledges Continued Growth in Academics, Research, and Innovation.

Sardar Patel University, Mandi, marked its 3rf Foundation Day today with great enthusiasm, hosting a series of events that showcased the university’s progress and commitment to academic excellence. The grand occasion, held at the university campus, brought together distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, students, and several esteemed guests to celebrate the journey of the institution.

Prof. Lalit Awasthi, the Vice Chancellor, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Anupama Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, was the Guest of Honor. The celebration began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a formal welcome address by Dr. Madan Kumar, the Registrar of the university.

In a momentous occasion, the Mandav Chronicle, the university’s official newsletter, was unveiled, highlighting the various academic and extracurricular activities that have shaped the university’s growth over the past year. The newsletter also showcased the major achievements and milestones that the institution has attained since its inception.

Prof. Lalit Awasthi delivered the annual report, outlining the university’s remarkable progress in the past year. He shared significant achievements such as holding the first convocation, the establishment of the University Academic Council, and the successful conduct of the first Finance Committee meeting. Prof. Awasthi also announced that, starting from 2024, Sardar Patel University will be conducting its own entrance exams for all courses across its campus and affiliated colleges.

The Vice Chancellor took pride in the university’s strides in academic, research, and innovation and congratulated the faculty members for their dedication. He also felicitated the university deans for their contributions to the academic landscape of the institution and extended his best wishes to the entire university community for future successes.

Prof. Anupama Singh, the Pro Vice Chancellor, took the stage next and shared her insights on the university’s vision moving forward. She fondly reflected on the transition from being a cluster university to becoming a full-fledged state university, highlighting the challenges faced during this transformative phase. She acknowledged the efforts of all involved in shaping the university into the esteemed institution it is today.

As a tribute to the values of unity, leadership, and academic excellence championed by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a symbolic gesture was made by presenting an earthen pot containing soil from Patel’s birthplace. This was handed over to the Vice Chancellor, underscoring the university’s commitment to upholding these ideals.

The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural program presented by the students, which beautifully showcased the rich cultural heritage of Mandi and Himachal Pradesh. The cultural performances added a colorful and celebratory dimension to the event.

Dr. Suneel Verma, the Controller of Examinations, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty, students, and guests who attended the event. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable and inspiring day for Sardar Patel University.

The event was attended by key university officials, including Hans Raj Saini, Finance Officer; H R Rawat, Deputy Controller Finance; all deans, department heads, faculty members, staff, and students. Eminent personalities from Mandi also joined the occasion, making it a truly celebratory and remarkable day for the university.
