CM Sukhu Reaffirms Commitment to Uplifting Marginalized Sections.
Shimla:
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the underprivileged and marginalized communities in Himachal Pradesh. Speaking at his official residence, Oak-Over, during a meeting with a delegation of the Hamirpur Street Vendors Union, the Chief Minister emphasized that no individual should be deprived of their livelihood unjustly.
He assured that the state government would continue working to provide relief, support, and opportunities to those in need, ensuring that every section of society benefits from developmental and welfare initiatives.
The delegation of street vendors expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for his timely intervention and support, which helped address their long-standing grievances. They recalled how their ‘Khokhas’ (roadside stalls) were demolished without due process, leaving them homeless and unemployed. Despite multiple appeals, no concrete solution had been offered—until CM Sukhu took charge.
Upon taking office, the Chief Minister not only acknowledged their plight but took proactive steps to rehabilitate affected families, offering them justice and restoring their livelihoods. The Union representatives thanked him for his compassionate and humane approach.
Sunil Sharma, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister, stated that Sukhu’s governance focuses on ensuring that welfare schemes reach the last mile, benefiting the most vulnerable. “The Chief Minister has consistently prioritized the needs of the common people and adopted a humanitarian lens in governance,” Sharma added.
Present at the meeting were Chairman of APMC Hamirpur Ajay Sharma, senior Congress leaders Rajesh Anand, Manoj Sharma, Rakesh Verma, Sunil Kumar, Harsh Kalia, Neelam Sharma, and several representatives from the Street Vendors Union.
The interaction marked a strong message from the state leadership—no voice will go unheard, and every citizen deserves dignity, justice, and a chance to thrive.
