Mangal Chand Manipa has been appointed as the District President of the Scheduled Tribes (ST) Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Lahaul-Spiti district. In a heartfelt public statement, he expressed his deep gratitude to the senior leadership of the BJP for reposing faith in him and bestowing him with this significant responsibility.

Manipa extended his sincere thanks to several top leaders of the Himachal Pradesh BJP, including:

  • Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh,  Jai Ram Thakur
  • State BJP President, Rajeev Bindal
  • State General Secretary (Organisation), Siddharthan
  • State President of BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha, Sunil Negi
  • Former MLA and senior BJP leader from Lahaul-Spiti, Ravi Thakur, whom Manipa referred to as his elder brother

He also acknowledged the unwavering support of the entire BJP family of the Lahaul-Spiti Assembly constituency, referring to the local cadre as “brothers and sisters” and expressing his heartfelt appreciation for their trust and encouragement.

In his message, Manipa described the appointment as a “matter of immense pride” and pledged to dedicate himself fully to the responsibilities entrusted to him.

“This is a moment of great honour for me. I take a solemn vow to uphold the core values of the BJP organization and to work tirelessly to spread the vision of development as championed by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.

He further added that he would strive to live up to the expectations and aspirations of the people of Lahaul-Spiti, especially those belonging to the Scheduled Tribes community.

“I will work day and night to bring the party’s development message to every household and ensure that our tribal communities feel heard, represented, and empowered,” Manipa affirmed.

This development marks a new chapter for the BJP’s outreach and organizational strength in the tribal and high-altitude region of Lahaul-Spiti, known for its unique cultural heritage and strategic importance. Party insiders view Manipa’s appointment as a strategic move to further energize the tribal wing of the party ahead of upcoming electoral challenges and developmental initiatives in the region.
