Former Minister Govind Singh Thakur Pays Tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on His Sacrifice Day in Manali.

Former Himachal Pradesh minister and senior BJP leader Govind Singh Thakur participated in a tribute program held at Kanyal booth in Manali of Kullu district on the occasion of the sacrifice day of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Paying homage to the nationalist icon, Govind Singh Thakur said, “Dr. Mookerjee’s entire life was dedicated to the unity, integrity, and self-respect of the nation. His ultimate sacrifice continues to inspire all of us to serve the country with devotion.”
He highlighted that Dr. Mookerjee stood firmly against the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and laid down his life for the cause of national Integration His famous slogan — “Ek desh mein do Vidhan, do Pradhan, aur do Nishan nahi chalenge” — continues to resonate even today.
Thakur emphasized that every BJP karyakarta should take inspiration from Dr. Mookherjee courage, dedication, and sacrifice and work tirelessly to uphold his ideals. He said that the younger generation must learn about such great patriots who shaped India’s post-independence national identity.
Local BJP workers and supporters attended the program and paid floral tributes to Dr. Mookerjee. The event served as a reminder of the values of patriotism, unity, and sacrifice, which remain central to the party’s philosophy and national service.
