BJP Leader Ajay Rana Attacks Himachal Government for Hurting Employees and Mismanaging Finances.
Shimla:
BJP state spokesperson Ajay Rana has strongly criticized the Himachal Pradesh government, saying that it is mismanaging the state’s finances and breaking promises made to employees.
He said the government is now struggling financially because it made big decisions without proper planning. One example, he said, was bringing back the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) without thinking about the long-term costs. “When contract employees went to court, the government had to change its policy. This shows the promises were made without doing proper calculations,” said Rana.
He added that people in the state feel cheated, especially government employees. “The government has put Himachal Pradesh in a very difficult situation. Employees are the worst affected and feel completely betrayed,” he said.
Ajay Rana was especially angry about a recent government order issued on September 6, which ended the Higher Grade Pay system for civil service employees starting from January 3, 2022. He said this decision is unfair and will demotivate employees. “Why would any employee work hard if the government keeps cutting their benefits?” he asked.
He also accused the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, of favoring their own people. He said while the government is cutting employee benefits, they are still giving luxury cars and top posts to their close associates.
“This government is acting like no one can see what they’re doing. But the people of Himachal are watching everything,” said Rana. “CM Sukhu, promised many things before coming to power. But now you are doing the opposite.”
Rana warned that such actions could lead to serious problems in the state.
Rana ended by saying that if the government continues like this, there will be strong opposition and protests from employees and the public in the coming days.
