Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a special Rs. 1,500 crore disaster relief package for Himachal Pradesh has drawn widespread praise from BJP leaders, who hailed the gesture as a symbol of the PM’s emotional and personal connection with the state.

Rakesh Jamwal, BJP MLA and the party’s chief spokesperson in Himachal Pradesh, expressed deep gratitude for the Prime Minister’s visit to disaster-affected areas and his direct engagement with the victims. “Prime Minister Modi considers Himachal his own family. His visit to meet affected families and his compassion, especially when he held an orphaned girl in his arms, deeply touched every Himachali,” said Jamwal.

Jamwal emphasized that beyond monetary aid, PM Modi’s presence demonstrated true leadership and empathy. “This isn’t just financial assistance — it’s a reflection of emotional solidarity. No other Prime Minister in history has shown this level of personal concern for Himachal,” he added.

He also used the opportunity to criticize the ruling Congress government in the state, alleging mismanagement of central funds.

Echoing similar sentiments, Sanjeev Katwal, BJP State General Secretary, and Ajay Rana, party spokesperson, jointly stated that PM Modi’s leadership during this crisis reflects his strong bond with Himachal Pradesh. “He calls this state his second home, and his actions prove it,” they said.

The leaders noted that including the recent announcement, the Centre has provided a total of Rs. 6,625 crore in disaster-related aid to the state. Additionally, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Himachal has received over Rs. 3,200 crore for rural road connectivity.

“PM Modi’s declaration of Rs. 2 lakh compensation for families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh for the injured reflects his commitment to understanding and alleviating people’s suffering,” they added.

The BJP leaders also praised NDRF, SDRF, and local volunteers for their heroic efforts during the Manimahesh Yatra rescue operations, where over 3,000 stranded pilgrims were safely evacuated. “From roads to relief — the Centre is standing shoulder to shoulder with Himachal,” they concluded.
