In the wake of recent natural calamities that have wreaked havoc in the Kullu district, Banjar MLA Surender Shourie conducted an on-ground visit to the severely affected Gram Panchayats of Palach and Jamad under Banjar assembly constituency today. During his tour, he met with residents from Palach, Duga, Dukhan, Kulhabai, Thach, Jamad, and Glwahdhar villages, where the scale of destruction was found to be alarming.

MLA Shourie reported that around 20 houses have been completely destroyed, while several others remain under immediate threat due to unstable terrain. Additionally, hundreds of bighas of fertile agricultural land have been damaged, putting the livelihoods of local farmers at risk.

“Seeing the pain and suffering of the people firsthand is heart-wrenching,” said Shourie. He has formally urged the state government to declare a Special Disaster Relief Package for Kullu district and has called upon the district administration to ensure prompt relief and rehabilitation measures.

MLA Shourie assured the affected families that all possible assistance will be provided and emphasized that his efforts to support them will continue until normalcy is restored.

The situation remains critical, requiring swift governmental intervention.
