Abhilashi Group Organizes Freshers’ Party, Dr. R.K. Abhilashi Inspires Students with Journey from Tuition Academy to University.
Shimla:
A vibrant Freshers’ Party was organized today by the students of the Botany Department and the Pharmacy College under the Abhilashi Group of Institutions. The event was held with great enthusiasm to welcome the new students into the academic family. The function was graced by Dr. R.K. Abhilashi, Chairman of the Abhilashi Group of Institutions, as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the students, Dr. Abhilashi shared the inspiring journey of the institution, which started as a small tuition academy and has now grown into a full-fledged private university in Himachal Pradesh, offering around 60 academic programs across diverse fields. He proudly stated that Abhilashi Pharmacy College holds the distinction of being the first private sector college in the state to offer pharmacy courses — a step that ensured Himachali students no longer had to migrate to other states for such education.

He attributed the success of the institution to the vision of his late father, Tulsi Ram Abhilashi, who dreamt of revolutionizing education in Himachal. “It is his blessings and vision that gave us the strength to overcome challenges and create an institution where thousands of students are now shaping their futures,” he said.
Recalling his personal journey, Dr. Abhilashi revealed that he left a secure government job in the education sector — one that was pensionable — to pursue his dream of establishing an institution dedicated to quality education. “The path wasn’t easy. We faced multiple challenges, but the determination of the Abhilashi family ensured we never gave up,” he said.
Encouraging students to dream big and dedicate themselves to their goals, Dr. Abhilashi emphasized the importance of moral values in education. “Education is incomplete without respect for our parents. That value must begin at home,” he added.
He lauded the senior students for organizing such a warm and positive event, saying it reflects the inclusive and respectful culture of Himachal Pradesh. “During our time, ragging was prevalent, but now it’s rightly criminalized. Welcoming new students should be done with warmth, and this event is a fine example of that,” he said.

Special Guest and President of Mandi Press Club, Subhash Thakur, was also warmly welcomed at the event. He praised the students and faculty for creating a vibrant academic environment.
The event concluded with cultural performances and a vote of thanks, leaving a lasting impression on the newcomers.
