Mass Transfer of 41 Doctors from Nerchowk Medical College Shows CM Sukhu’s Anti-Mandi Bias, says BJP Chief Spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal.
Shimla:
The transfer of 41 doctors from Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Nerchowk has sparked outrage in Mandi, with BJP chief spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal accusing Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of harboring an “anti-Mandi mindset.” Jamwal alleged that the Congress government’s decision reflects a deliberate attempt to weaken Mandi’s key institutions and punish the district for its strong BJP representation.
He said that despite the Chief Minister’s public assurances of non-discrimination, his actions reveal political vendetta. “Two days ago, the Chief Minister expressed solidarity with people in Mandi, calling himself the protector of the district. But back in Shimla, he exposed his real face by approving the transfer of 41 doctors,” Jamwal said.
The BJP leader also accused the government of undermining Sardar Patel University, claiming that over 100 colleges had been detached from it and linked to Shimla University, eroding Mandi’s educational identity.
Jamwal said the Congress government’s three years in power have brought only neglect to Mandi, and the mass transfer of doctors is proof of its bias. He warned that the BJP will launch an agitation to protect Mandi’s interests, asserting that the people will no longer trust the Chief Minister’s “false promises.”
