MLA Inder Singh Gandhi Raises Key Development Issues for Balh Constituency in Himachal Assembly; Govt Assures Swift Action.

Dharamshala:

The Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly witnessed a proactive intervention by Balh MLA Inder Singh Gandhi, who raised two critical infrastructure issues concerning his constituency— the delayed construction of the Paidi Ayurvedic Dispensary building and the need for a permanent facility for the Gagal Police Post.

During the Question Hour, MLA Gandhi drew the government’s attention to the prolonged delay in completing the new building for the Paidi Ayurvedic Dispensary. Highlighting the concerns of the local population, he sought clarification on the timeline for completion and the expenditure incurred so far.

Responding on behalf of the government, officials informed the House that the Ayurvedic Department has already sanctioned Rs. 32.62 lakh for the construction, out of which Rs. 5.49 lakh has been spent. The government assured that all formalities have been completed and the construction work would commence at the earliest.

MLA Gandhi personally urged Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and AYUSH Minister Dhani Ram Shandil to ensure that the long-pending project is expedited. Minister Shandil reassured the House that the building work would begin very soon and that the facility would greatly enhance Ayurvedic healthcare services in Balh. Expressing satisfaction, Gandhi said he would closely monitor the progress to ensure timely completion.

In another significant development, Gandhi raised a Calling Attention Motion regarding the need for a permanent building for the Gagal Police Post, which is currently operating from a rented facility—resulting in substantial recurring expenditure for the government. He proposed that suitable government land in Kemi, Dillu Chowk, Gagal, and Kemi Muhal could be utilized for constructing the permanent structure.

Chief Minister Sukhu responded promptly, acknowledging the importance of the issue. He announced that land identification for the police post would be completed soon and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi to immediately examine the available government land in the suggested areas. The CM instructed that once found suitable, the land should be transferred to the Police Department without delay.

Thanking the Chief Minister for his swift and positive response, MLA Gandhi stated that the permanent police post would not only save government expenditure but also significantly strengthen law and order in the region. He affirmed his commitment to continuously monitor both projects until their completion.

These developments mark a major stride forward in improving healthcare and security infrastructure in the Balh constituency of Mandi district, offering long-awaited relief to the residents.
