UP CM Yogi Adityanath Orders Crackdown on Illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi Immigrants, Calls Public to Stay Vigilant.
Lucknow:
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reiterated the state government’s firm stance against illegal immigration, citing a recent observation made by the Supreme Court that “a red carpet cannot be rolled out for infiltrators.” Stressing that national resources belong to citizens alone, he stated that illegal entrants would not be accepted “at any cost.”
In a detailed statement, the Chief Minister said that the security of Uttar Pradesh, preservation of social balance, and strengthening of law and order remain his administration’s top priorities. He announced that strict and decisive action has already been initiated against Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally within the state.
All urban local bodies have been instructed to identify suspicious foreign nationals and prepare lists for further investigation. A special verification drive is also underway to authenticate documents, ensuring that benefits under various welfare schemes reach legitimate beneficiaries and are not diluted by unauthorized individuals.
To facilitate the process, the state government is establishing detention centres in every administrative division. Identified infiltrators are being transported to these centres pending further legal action.
Appealing to the residents of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister urged heightened vigilance and advised people to verify the identity of any person they employ for domestic or commercial work. He emphasized that safeguarding the state is a shared responsibility, adding that “security is the foundation of prosperity.”
The announcement signals the state’s continued firm approach toward illegal immigration and reinforces the government’s focus on maintaining public order and resource integrity.
