Shimla:
Himachal Pradesh has been nationally recognised for its pioneering digital governance initiative, Him Parivar, at Ārohaṇa 2025, Deloitte’s flagship government summit. The recognition highlights the State’s growing leadership in leveraging technology to build transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric governance systems.
The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, participated in the summit and delivered the Plenary Leadership Lecture, where he outlined the State’s vision for a future-ready governance ecosystem powered by digital innovation.
Addressing senior policymakers, industry leaders, and governance experts, the Chief Minister emphasised that digital transformation lies at the core of Himachal Pradesh’s development strategy.
Describing Him Parivar as a game changer in public administration, the Chief Minister explained that the initiative integrates data across multiple government departments to ensure accurate identification of beneficiaries and targeted delivery of welfare schemes. The platform has helped eliminate duplication, remove ineligible beneficiaries, improve policy planning, and enhance financial prudence in the implementation of social welfare programmes.
According to the Chief Minister, the project has significantly strengthened transparency, efficiency, and accountability in governance.
CM also highlighted other flagship digital initiatives of the State, including HimAccess, the single sign-on digital identity platform, and HimSeva, a unified service delivery portal that provides hundreds of government services online. These initiatives, he noted, are designed to make governance simpler, faster, and more inclusive, especially for citizens living in remote and hilly regions of the State.
Holding the Information Technology portfolio himself, the Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the Department of Digital Technology and Governance (DTG) for driving Himachal Pradesh’s digital transformation agenda. He particularly commended the visionary leadership of Gokul Butail, Principal Advisor (DTG & Innovation) to the Chief Minister, for providing strategic direction to the State’s digital initiatives. The Chief Minister also appreciated Dr. Nipun Jindal, Director, DDTG, and his team for their sustained efforts in translating the State’s ambitious digital governance vision into on-ground success.
The special recognition at Ārohaṇa 2025 reinforces Himachal Pradesh’s position as a national leader in technology-enabled governance. It reflects the State’s commitment to building a secure, transparent, and future-ready digital ecosystem that places citizens at the centre of governance and development.
