UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer Holds Call with US President Donald Trump.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Saturday afternoon, with discussions focusing on key global security issues and the close relationship between the two allies.

According to Downing Street, the two leaders began their conversation by reflecting on the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Prime Minister updated President Trump on the work being carried out by the Coalition of the Willing, highlighting efforts to support any future peace deal and to help ensure a just and lasting end to the conflict.

The discussion then turned to the Middle East, where both leaders exchanged views on the current situation on the ground in Gaza. They underlined the importance of continued diplomatic engagement amid the evolving humanitarian and security challenges in the region.

During the call, Prime Minister Starmer also informed the President of the appointment of the United Kingdom’s new Ambassador to the United States, Dr Christian Turner. The Prime Minister noted that the appointment would further strengthen and deepen the long-standing relationship between the UK and the US.

The conversation concluded on a warm note, with both leaders wishing each other a Merry Christmas and expressing their intention to speak again in the near future.

The call underscored the continued close cooperation between London and Washington on international security, diplomacy, and bilateral relations.
