Modi Government Sanctions Rs. 1,240.53 Crore for Road Development in Mandi Lok Sabha Constituency: Ravi Thakur.

Shimla:

Former MLA from Lahaul-Spiti and BJP State Executive Member Ravi Thakur said that the Modi government has given a major development boost to the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency by sanctioning projects worth Rs. 1,240.53 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) 2025–26.

He informed that under this allocation, 142 road projects covering a total length of 846.32 kilometers have been approved for the Mandi parliamentary constituency. Ravi Thakur said that Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan has conveyed this decision in a letter addressed to Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, confirming the allocation by the Government of India.

Ravi Thakur added that following last year’s natural disasters, including floods and heavy rainfall, a central assessment team had visited the region and submitted its recommendations. Acting on these recommendations, the Centre is extending full support to Himachal Pradesh. He said Mandi Lok Sabha constituency had suffered extensive damage to its road connectivity due to repeated natural calamities.

The sanctioned funds will prove to be a lifeline for repairing and maintaining rural roads, particularly in remote and tribal areas. Improved all-weather connectivity will significantly ease daily life for people living in far-flung and difficult terrains.

Ravi Thakur expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut for securing such a substantial allocation for rural road development in the region.
