CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Directs Continuation of Social Security Pensions for All Eligible Beneficiaries.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed that the social security pension of any eligible individual must not be stopped under any circumstances. While presiding over a meeting of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department here today, he instructed officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries continue to receive their pensions without interruption.

He asked the department to complete all codal formalities for the remaining eligible pensioners to ensure that no deserving person is deprived of their rights. The Chief Minister informed that e-KYC of 7,60,772 beneficiaries has been completed so far and emphasized that every eligible individual must be covered without exception.

Reviewing the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Yojna, he said 4,131 children are currently benefiting under the scheme, with Rs. 30.69 crore allocated for its effective implementation. He directed authorities to organize regular exposure and recreational visits for orphaned children and sought reports from districts that have not yet conducted such tours.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojna, aimed at supporting children of widows, destitute or divorced women, and parents with disabilities. He stated that 21,588 beneficiaries are covered under the scheme, including 20,735 below 18 years of age, with Rs. 31.01 crore allocated.

He assured that there is no shortage of funds and reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of vulnerable sections. He also noted that 10 percent of the Local Area Development Fund has been earmarked for the welfare of orphaned children.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil, along with senior administrative officers, attended the meeting.
