‘Yoga 365’ Initiative Launched to Make Daily Wellness a Way of Life.

New Delhi:

In a significant push to transform yoga from a one-day celebration into a year-round practice, the Ministry of Ayush has launched the nationwide ‘Yoga 365’ campaign aimed at integrating wellness into everyday life.

The initiative seeks to build on the success of the globally celebrated International Day of Yoga, which since its inception in 2015 has become one of the largest wellness movements in the world. The campaign was formally unveiled during the Yoga Mahotsav–2026 event at Vigyan Bhawan, marking the 100-day countdown to the 2026 edition of International Day of Yoga.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, said the vision behind Yoga 365 is to transform yoga into a consistent daily habit. He highlighted that while awareness about traditional wellness systems is already high in India, the key challenge lies in converting that awareness into regular practice.

Citing findings from the National Sample Survey, the Minister noted that awareness of yoga stands at around 95 percent in rural areas and 96 percent in urban India. However, only a fraction of households practice yoga regularly, revealing a significant gap that the Yoga 365 initiative aims to bridge.

As part of the launch, the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Habuild to provide free daily online yoga sessions. This partnership is expected to expand access to guided yoga practices across geographies and fitness levels through digital platforms.

Officials stated that Yoga 365 will operate as an umbrella campaign, connecting various initiatives of the Ministry of Ayush. These include programmes such as Y-Break for corporate employees, the Common Yoga Protocol for the general public, and therapeutic yoga modules for managing non-communicable diseases.

Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Rajesh Kotecha, emphasised that the campaign is designed to make yoga more accessible, practical, and relevant to everyday health needs. He noted that the initiative would help bridge the gap between awareness and regular practice.

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Monalisa Dash, added that the campaign aims to build a nationwide culture of daily wellness through community engagement, institutional partnerships, and digital outreach.

With the countdown to International Day of Yoga 2026 underway, Yoga 365 represents the next phase of India’s wellness movement—shifting focus from symbolic observance to sustained lifestyle change. Officials believe that by encouraging daily practice, the initiative can significantly enhance public health, mental well-being, and overall quality of life across the country.
