BJP Accuses Himachal Government of Dodging Key Issues, Claims Law and Order Has Collapsed.

Shimla:

BJP Chief Spokesperson and Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government, alleging that it has failed to address public concerns and is attempting to divert attention from pressing issues.

Jamwal said the state government has been unable to respond to facts and figures recently presented by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda. According to him, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and his ministers have avoided answering questions related to development, governance, and the utilization of central funds.

Criticizing Rural Development Minister Rajesh Dharmani’s remarks about the state’s future chief minister, Jamwal claimed the Congress leadership has already accepted electoral defeat. He alleged that instead of addressing public grievances, ministers are focused on political calculations and leadership ambitions.

The BJP leader further accused the government of delaying development projects through prolonged tender and re-tender processes, resulting in wastage of public money and slowing infrastructure growth. He alleged that projects are intentionally stalled until they can benefit individuals close to the ruling establishment.

Expressing concern over the state’s law-and-order situation, Jamwal said Himachal Pradesh, once regarded as one of the country’s most peaceful states, is witnessing a rise in crime and insecurity. He cited the recent death of a school operator in Shimla and alleged administrative failure in providing timely protection despite repeated requests for assistance.

He also pointed to increasing reports of gang-related activities in border areas, claiming that criminals no longer fear the law. Jamwal asserted that the Congress government has failed on development, employment, economic management, and public safety, and said the BJP would continue raising these issues before the people.
