Restoration of Dhonthal Nala and Traffic Resumption

Officials informed that Dhonthal Nala had recently been disrupted due to a rise in water levels caused by adverse weather conditions. However, the Public Works Department acted promptly to restore connectivity, and traffic movement has now been fully resumed for all types of vehicles, including buses.

The MLA appreciated the swift response of the department in restoring essential connectivity and ensuring that the region remained accessible despite challenging terrain and weather conditions.

Progress on Bridge Construction at Changut and Udgoss Nalas

Anuradha Rana also inspected the ongoing bridge construction work at Changut Nala and Udgoss Nala. Officials reported that the bridge structures at both locations are nearing completion and are expected to be launched within the next one to two days.

The MLA expressed satisfaction over the pace of work and directed officials to ensure timely completion while maintaining construction quality standards.

Revised Plan for Dhonthal Nala Bridge

At Dhonthal Nala, the MLA was informed that damage to the abutment structure has necessitated the selection of an alternative site for launching the bridge. The process for shifting the construction location has already begun, and officials were instructed to expedite the work to ensure early completion.

She directed the department to prioritize safety, durability, and engineering standards while executing the revised plan.

Review of Flood Control and Culvert Works

The MLA also inspected flood protection and culvert-related works at several other locations, including Bhigi Nala, Tamlu Nala, and Karpat village, where flood control measures are currently underway.

She emphasized the need for maintaining steady progress, ensuring high-quality construction, and conducting regular monitoring of all ongoing works. Officials were instructed to avoid any compromise on quality and to ensure timely completion of all infrastructure projects.

During her visit, MLA Anuradha Rana interacted with local residents and listened to their concerns regarding infrastructure, water flow management, and other civic issues. She assured the public that their grievances would be addressed on priority and appropriate directions had been issued to the concerned departments and administration.

She reiterated her commitment to continuously working for the resolution of public issues and the development of remote areas of Lahaul–Spiti.

Commitment to Development

Concluding her visit, the MLA stated that efforts are ongoing to strengthen infrastructure, improve connectivity, and mitigate flood-related risks in the valley.
