Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Thakur praised the invaluable contribution of His Holiness Palga Rinpoche towards the promotion and propagation of Buddhism, spiritual awakening, and social welfare. He noted that the charitable trust operating under the guidance of Rinpoche is doing remarkable work in the fields of education, value-based learning, and connecting the younger generation with spiritual and moral principles.

Thakur expressed his gratitude for receiving the blessings of Palga Rinpoche and highly appreciated his efforts in strengthening social harmony and spiritual consciousness among people. He emphasized that such spiritual leaders play a significant role in guiding society towards peace, compassion, and ethical living.

Following the meeting, Ravi Thakur visited the iconic Leh Shanti Stupa, one of Ladakh’s most revered religious and tourist landmarks. Offering prayers and performing rituals at the site, he prayed for global peace, the welfare of humanity, and the prosperity of the nation.

Addressing the significance of the monument, Thakur stated that the Shanti Stupa was built with the vision of spreading the message of world peace and human unity in the aftermath of the Second World War. Today, it has emerged as a major center of faith, spirituality, and peace, attracting devotees and tourists from across the globe.

He highlighted the historical importance of the monument, noting that its foundation stone was laid by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1985, while the stupa was formally inaugurated in 1991 by His Holiness Thuksey Rinpoche. Since then, it has stood as a symbol of harmony and cultural heritage in the Himalayan region.

Ravi Thakur further remarked that the Shanti Stupa is not merely a religious structure but a powerful symbol of compassion, non-violence, universal brotherhood, and human welfare. The monument beautifully depicts inspiring episodes from the life of Lord Buddha, including his sacrifices, meditation, and attainment of enlightenment, offering visitors profound lessons on peace, service, and coexistence.

During his visit, Thakur prayed for world peace, national progress, and the development of the Himalayan region, including Lahaul-Spiti. He emphasized that India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage continues to inspire future generations and called upon society to collectively work towards its preservation and promotion.

The visit reflected a strong commitment to spiritual values, cultural preservation, and the promotion of peace and harmony, which remain central to the ethos of the Himalayan region and the nation as a whole.
