DAVCPS Mandi Concludes Hindi Pakhwada with Grand Finale.

DAV Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, brought the curtain down on its fortnight-long celebration of ‘Hindi Pakhwada’ with a vibrant concluding ceremony held on September 28. The programme, which commenced on September 14, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across classes through a variety of literary, creative and cultural activities aimed at promoting the use and appreciation of the Hindi language.
Throughout the fortnight, the school organised a series of competitions designed to encourage students to explore Hindi in innovative and meaningful ways. The activities provided students with opportunities to showcase their linguistic skills, creativity, confidence and knowledge of Hindi literature and language.
The concluding ceremony featured the much-awaited announcement of results, followed by the felicitation of the winners. The achievers were recognised for their outstanding performances, while the participation of all students was appreciated for adding enthusiasm and colour to the celebrations.
Outstanding Performances by Students
In Class 6, the Word Tree Competition (Sections A & B) saw Deepika of Tagore House secure the first position, followed by Shanya of Tilak House in second place and Avani of Tagore House in third. In the Hindi Slogan Competition (Sections C & D), Devanya of Tilak House bagged first position, while Prisha Thakur of Tagore House and Pranil Sharma of Tagore House secured second and third positions, respectively.
The Poem Recitation Competition witnessed an impressive display of expression and oratory skills. Navya of Tilak House emerged as the winner, with Vedvansh Katoch of Tagore House securing second position and Mannat of Tilak House third.
For Class 7, the Synonym Word Puzzle Competition (Sections A & B) was won by Aarav Thakur of Tilak House. Jivisha of Gandhi House secured second position, while Samayra Azad of Nehru House stood third. In the Idioms Comic Strip Competition (Sections C & D), Vaibhavi Sharma of Tagore House claimed first position, followed by Chinmay of Gandhi House in second and Advita of Tilak House in third.
The Antakshari Competition added a lively musical dimension to the celebrations, with Tagore House securing the first position. Gandhi House stood second, while Nehru House secured third position.
In Class 8, the ‘My Hindi, My News’ Competition was won by Lavanya Rathore of Gandhi House, followed by Bhuvi Gupta of Tilak House in second position and Avyukt of Gandhi House in third. The Solo Acting Competition saw Kartikeya Marwah of Gandhi House secure first position, with Bhuvi of Tilak House and Ananya Thakur of Nehru House securing second and third positions, respectively.
For Class 9, the Hindi Literature Timeline Competition was won by Divyanshi of Tilak House, while Aradhya of Tagore House and Arannam of Nehru House secured second and third positions. In the general competition, Yuvika of Tagore House secured first position, followed by Dakshita of Gandhi House in second and Shreya of Tilak House in third.
Hindi: A Reflection of Culture and Heritage
Addressing the students on the occasion, K. S. Guleria, Principal, DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi, delivered an inspiring message on the significance of Hindi. He emphasised that Hindi is not merely a means of communication but also a reflection of India’s rich culture, values, heritage and collective identity.
He encouraged the students to develop pride in the language and to make meaningful use of Hindi in their everyday lives. His message highlighted the importance of preserving linguistic and cultural values while nurturing confidence and creativity among young learners.
The concluding ceremony celebrated more than just the achievements of the winners. It brought together the spirit of participation, creativity, literary expression and cultural appreciation that characterised the entire Hindi Pakhwada.
The successful conclusion of the fortnight-long celebration reaffirmed DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi’s commitment to promoting linguistic awareness and encouraging students to appreciate the richness and relevance of Hindi.
